Indications
Heat accumulation (constipation) with qi and blood deficiency: constipation with abdominal fullness and pain, fever, plus fatigue, a faint voice and a parched mouth in a weakened patient.
Tongue & Pulse
Tongue: dry yellow or black coat. Pulse: deep, weak or faint.
Modifications
Adjust the purging strength to the patient’s reserves.
Cautions & Contraindications
For heat excess with deficiency; balance carefully and use briefly. Caution in pregnancy.
