Indications
Spleen deficiency with fatigue and poor appetite; blood deficiency; restlessness and emotional lability (e.g. in ‘restless organ disorder’); and to protect the Stomach from harsh herbs.

3-12 pieces (or 10-30 g) in decoction.

Commonly paired with Sheng Jiang to harmonise the nutritive and defensive qi and protect the Stomach.
Cautions & Contraindications
Avoid in damp, fullness, phlegm and parasites; its cloying nature can worsen these.
