Indications
Lung yin deficiency with heat toxin: a dry, sore throat with greyish-white patches, a dry hacking cough, hoarseness, and difficulty breathing (classically diphtheria).
Tongue & Pulse
Tongue: red and dry with little coat. Pulse: thin and rapid.
Modifications
With marked toxicity, add Ban Lan Gen.
Cautions & Contraindications
For yin-deficiency throat disorders; ensure urgent medical care for suspected diphtheria/airway compromise.
