Indications
Constipation with hard, dry stool and heat; and (topical) swollen, painful breasts and skin swellings.
Dosage
6-12 g, dissolved in the strained, hot decoction (not boiled).
Common Combinations
With Da Huang to soften stool and drain heat (Da Cheng Qi Tang).
Cautions & Contraindications
Contraindicated in pregnancy; avoid in cold from deficiency.
