Ingredients

Actions & Functions

  • Reduces food stagnation and unblocks the bowels
  • Drains damp-heat

Indications

Food stagnation with damp-heat: epigastric and abdominal fullness and pain, diarrhoea or constipation with foul stool, and reduced appetite.

Tongue & Pulse

Tongue: greasy yellow coat. Pulse: deep and forceful (or slippery).

Modifications

For simpler food stagnation, use Bao He Wan.

Cautions & Contraindications

For excess food stagnation with damp-heat; not for deficiency. Caution in pregnancy.
