Indications
Yin deficiency with vigorous fire: bone-steaming fever and night sweats, afternoon flushes, coughing of blood, irritability, sore weak knees, and nocturnal emission.
Tongue & Pulse
Tongue: red with little coat. Pulse: thin and rapid (forceful at the proximal position).
Modifications
With marked night sweats, add astringents.
Cautions & Contraindications
Cloying and cold; not for poor appetite and loose stools from Spleen deficiency.
