Indications
Cold accumulation with yang deficiency: constipation or chronic dysentery with abdominal pain relieved by warmth, cold limbs, and a pale complexion.
Tongue & Pulse
Tongue: pale with a white coat. Pulse: deep, wiry and forceless.
Modifications
Adjust Da Huang dose to the bowels; cook Da Huang longer to soften its purging.
Cautions & Contraindications
For cold accumulation with deficiency; not for heat-type constipation.
