Indications

Acute upper-body bleeding from blood heat: vomiting or coughing of blood and nosebleed, with bright-red blood, a flushed face, and irritability.

Tongue & Pulse

Tongue: red. Pulse: rapid.

Modifications

An emergency haemostatic; once bleeding settles, treat the root.

Cautions & Contraindications

For bleeding from heat; not for deficiency-cold bleeding. Ensure emergency care for serious haemorrhage.
