Indications
Phlegm-heat obstructing the Lung: cough with thick, yellow, difficult sputum, a stifling chest, nausea, and possibly wheezing.
Tongue & Pulse
Tongue: red with a yellow greasy coat. Pulse: slippery and rapid.
Modifications
With marked constipation, add herbs to drain heat downward.
Cautions & Contraindications
For phlegm-heat; not for cold-phlegm or dry cough from yin deficiency.
