Ingredients

Actions & Functions

  • Diffuses the Lung and descends rebellious qi
  • Clears phlegm-heat and calms wheezing

Indications

Phlegm-heat wheezing: asthma and wheezing with copious thick yellow sputum, a stifling chest, possibly with chills and fever.

Tongue & Pulse

Tongue: yellow greasy coat. Pulse: slippery and rapid.

Modifications

With marked heat, increase Huang Qin and Sang Bai Pi.

Cautions & Contraindications

For phlegm-heat wheezing; not for wheezing from cold or deficiency.
