Indications
Heat dysentery with blood deficiency: dysentery with blood and pus, abdominal pain and tenesmus, in a weak, postpartum or blood-deficient patient.
Tongue & Pulse
Tongue: red. Pulse: rapid and weak.
Modifications
For robust patients, plain Bai Tou Weng Tang suffices.
Cautions & Contraindications
For heat dysentery with deficiency; not for cold/deficiency diarrhoea.
