Indications
Liver fire scorching the Lung: coughing of blood or blood-streaked sputum, thick sticky phlegm, a flushed face, irritability, a bitter taste, and chest and hypochondriac discomfort.
Tongue & Pulse
Tongue: red with a yellow coat. Pulse: wiry and rapid.
Modifications
With marked yin deficiency, add yin-nourishing herbs.
Cautions & Contraindications
For coughing of blood from Liver fire/phlegm-heat; not for bleeding from deficiency-cold.
