Ingredients

Actions & Functions

  • Harmonises the Stomach and disperses focal distension
  • Resolves retained water (and food) and descends rebellious qi

Indications

Mixed cold-heat focal distension with water/food retention: epigastric fullness, loud belching with a rotten-food smell, borborygmus, and diarrhoea.

Tongue & Pulse

Tongue: yellow greasy coat. Pulse: wiry or slippery.

Modifications

A variant of Ban Xia Xie Xin Tang with added fresh ginger.

Cautions & Contraindications

For focal distension with water/food and mixed cold-heat.
