Indications
Intestinal abscess (damp-heat with blood stasis): pain in the lower right abdomen that resists pressure, with the leg drawn up, fever and constipation.
Tongue & Pulse
Tongue: greasy yellow coat. Pulse: slippery and rapid (or deep and forceful).
Modifications
For early-stage cases only; surgical care is essential if it progresses.
Cautions & Contraindications
Contraindicated in pregnancy and once an abscess has ruptured; seek surgical assessment for suspected appendicitis.
