Indications

Blood and qi stasis of the middle and upper burner: stabbing or fixed chest and epigastric pain, often used in coronary and chronic gastric disorders.

Tongue & Pulse

Tongue: dark or purplish. Pulse: choppy or wiry.

Modifications

Combined into larger formulas for chest bi or epigastric pain.

Cautions & Contraindications

Use with caution in pregnancy; manage cardiac causes medically.
