Indications

Yin deficiency with heat disturbing the blood: heavy or prolonged menstruation or uterine bleeding with dark-red blood, irritability, a flushed face, and a dry mouth.

Tongue & Pulse

Tongue: red. Pulse: wiry and rapid.

Modifications

With marked deficiency, add herbs to enrich the yin and blood.

Cautions & Contraindications

For bleeding from yin-deficiency heat; not for deficiency-cold bleeding.
