Fu Ren Liang Fang (Yi Xue Ru Men ed.)

• Gui Ban, Bai Shao (nourish yin) – chief; Huang Qin, Huang Bai (clear heat)
• Xiang Fu (regulate qi); Chun Pi (astringe)

• Nourishes the yin and clears heat
• Stabilises the menses and stops bleeding

Yin deficiency with heat disturbing the blood: heavy or prolonged menstruation or uterine bleeding with dark-red blood, irritability, a flushed face, and a dry mouth.

Tongue: red. Pulse: wiry and rapid.

With marked deficiency, add herbs to enrich the yin and blood.

For bleeding from yin-deficiency heat; not for deficiency-cold bleeding.
