Ingredients

Actions & Functions

  • Warms the channels and disperses cold
  • Invigorates the blood and dispels stasis; relieves pain

Indications

Cold blood stasis in the lower abdomen: cold, fixed lower abdominal pain or masses, dysmenorrhoea with dark clots, and irregular menstruation; also some cases of infertility.

Tongue & Pulse

Tongue: dark or purplish with a white coat. Pulse: deep, wiry or tight.

Modifications

With marked deficiency, combine with blood tonics.

Cautions & Contraindications

Contraindicated in pregnancy; for cold-stasis, not heat patterns.
