Xiao Hui Xiang (小茴香), fennel fruit, warms and disperses cold to relieve pain (especially cold hernial pain and cold of the lower abdomen) and harmonises the Stomach to relieve nausea.

Indications

Cold hernial pain and cold pain of the lower abdomen and testicles; and Stomach cold with nausea and poor appetite.

Dosage

3-6 g in decoction.

Common Combinations

With Wu Yao and Chuan Lian Zi for cold hernial pain.

Cautions & Contraindications

Avoid in yin deficiency with heat.
