- Ma Huang (diffuse Lung) & Bai Guo (astringe) – chief
- Xing Ren, Su Zi, Kuan Dong Hua, Ban Xia (descend/transform); Sang Bai Pi, Huang Qin (clear heat); Gan Cao

Indications
Phlegm-heat wheezing: asthma and wheezing with copious thick yellow sputum, a stifling chest, possibly with chills and fever.
Tongue & Pulse
Tongue: yellow greasy coat. Pulse: slippery and rapid.
Modifications
With marked heat, increase Huang Qin and Sang Bai Pi.
Cautions & Contraindications
For phlegm-heat wheezing; not for wheezing from cold or deficiency.
