Ingredients

Actions & Functions

  • Nourishes the Lung and Kidney yin and clears deficiency heat
  • Transforms phlegm and stops cough

Indications

Lung-Kidney yin deficiency: a chronic dry cough with scanty sticky sputum or blood-streaked phlegm, a dry, sore throat, afternoon flushes, and night sweats.

Tongue & Pulse

Tongue: red with little coat. Pulse: thin and rapid.

Modifications

With marked bleeding, add herbs to cool the blood and stop bleeding.

Cautions & Contraindications

Cloying; use with caution in Spleen deficiency with loose stools and much phlegm-damp.
