Indications
Middle-burner deficiency-cold: intermittent spasmodic abdominal pain relieved by warmth and pressure, fatigue, palpitations, and a pale complexion; also for constitutional deficiency in children.
Tongue & Pulse
Tongue: pale with a white coat. Pulse: thin and wiry, or moderate and weak.
Modifications
Add Huang Qi (Huang Qi Jian Zhong Tang) for more marked qi deficiency.
Cautions & Contraindications
Sweet and warming; not for damp/fullness, vomiting or yin deficiency with heat.
