Indications
Phlegm cough and wheezing of the ‘excess above, deficiency below’ type: coughing and wheezing with copious phlegm, a stifling chest, and weak, cold lower back and legs.
Tongue & Pulse
Tongue: white, greasy or slippery coat. Pulse: slippery (weak at the proximal position).
Modifications
With more cold, add Gan Jiang and Xi Xin.
Cautions & Contraindications
Warming and drying; not for cough from Lung heat or yin deficiency.
