  • Cools the blood and nourishes the yin

Indications

Stomach fire (often with blood heat): toothache, swollen painful bleeding gums, mouth ulcers, bad breath, and a preference for cold drinks.

Tongue & Pulse

Tongue: red with a yellow coat. Pulse: slippery and rapid.

Modifications

Add Shi Gao for intense Stomach fire.

Cautions & Contraindications

Not for toothache from wind-cold or Kidney deficiency.
