Indications

Kidney yang and essence deficiency with cold limbs, impotence, infertility, weak and sore lower back and knees, and in children developmental delay and weak bones.

Dosage

1-3 g, taken as powder or in pills (not usually decocted); start low and increase gradually.

Common Combinations

With Shu Di Huang and Shan Zhu Yu to tonify Kidney yang, essence and blood.

Cautions & Contraindications

Contraindicated in yin deficiency with heat, excess heat and exterior conditions; begin with small doses to avoid dizziness or headache from rising yang.
