Indications
Chronic diarrhoea or dysentery from deficiency-cold: unremitting diarrhoea, abdominal pain relieved by warmth and pressure, and rectal prolapse.
Tongue & Pulse
Tongue: pale with a white coat. Pulse: deep, slow and thin.
Modifications
Used only once acute pathogenic factors have cleared.
Cautions & Contraindications
Contains poppy husk (restricted in many countries); for deficiency-cold only, never in acute damp-heat dysentery.
