Indications
Cold patterns with rebellious qi: vomiting of clear fluid or sour regurgitation, epigastric cold and pain, dry retching, and vertex headache with cold.
Tongue & Pulse
Tongue: pale with a white slippery coat. Pulse: slow or wiry.
Modifications
With severe vomiting, add Ban Xia; with headache, add Chuan Xiong.
Cautions & Contraindications
Hot and drying; not for vomiting or headache from heat or yin deficiency.
