Wu Mei Wan (烏梅丸) warms the organs, clears heat and calms and expels roundworm; the classic formula for roundworm with abdominal pain, and also used for chronic diarrhoea of a mixed cold-heat nature.

  • Warms the organs and clears heat (mixed cold-heat)
  • Calms and expels roundworm

Indications

Roundworm with abdominal pain, vomiting (especially after eating), cold limbs and irritability; and chronic cold-heat complex diarrhoea.

Tongue & Pulse

Tongue: variable. Pulse: deep or wiry.

Modifications

Add other vermifuges (e.g. Shi Jun Zi, Bing Lang) to strengthen the anti-parasitic action.

Cautions & Contraindications

Complex warm-cold formula; use with care in pregnancy. Contains Xi Xin in small dose.
