Indications
Kidney deficiency in pregnancy: threatened or habitual miscarriage with a sore, weak lower back, vaginal spotting, and a sense of the fetus ‘dropping’.
Tongue & Pulse
Tongue: pale. Pulse: deep, weak and slippery.
Modifications
With qi deficiency, combine with qi tonics (e.g. add Huang Qi, Bai Zhu).
Cautions & Contraindications
For Kidney-deficiency threatened miscarriage; manage with obstetric supervision.
