Indications

Lurking heat in the yin (late-stage warm disease): night fever that abates by morning without sweating, emaciation, a dry mouth and a red tongue.

Tongue & Pulse

Tongue: red with little coat. Pulse: thin and rapid.

Modifications

With marked deficiency, add herbs to enrich the yin further.

Cautions & Contraindications

For yin-deficiency lurking heat; not for the acute exterior or full-heat stages.
