  • Nourishes the blood (more strongly than Xiao Yao San)

Indications

Liver constraint with marked blood deficiency: irregular or scanty menstruation, dizziness, palpitations, fatigue, hypochondriac distension, and a pale complexion.

Tongue & Pulse

Tongue: pale. Pulse: wiry and thin.

Modifications

Add Mu Dan Pi and Zhi Zi for constraint with heat (Jia Wei variant).

Cautions & Contraindications

Cloying; use with caution in marked damp or poor digestion.
