Dadu (SP-2), “Great Metropolis”, is the Ying-Spring and Fire point of the Spleen channel. As the tonification point it strengthens the Spleen and clears heat.
Location
On the medial side of the great toe, distal and inferior to the first metatarsophalangeal joint, at the border of the red and white skin.
Anatomy
On abductor hallucis; the medial plantar artery and the dorsal digital artery; the medial plantar nerve.

Indications
Abdominal distension and pain, stomach pain, vomiting and diarrhoea, constipation, and febrile disease with absence of sweating.
Needling
0.3-0.5 cun, perpendicular insertion.
Moxibustion Suitability
Suitable for moxibustion.
Point Combinations
With SP-3 to strengthen the Spleen; with ST-44 for febrile disease.
