Taibai (SP-3), “Supreme White”, is the Yuan-Source, Shu-Stream and Earth point of the Spleen channel. It is the principal point for tonifying the Spleen and resolving dampness.
Location
On the medial border of the foot, proximal and inferior to the first metatarsophalangeal joint, in the depression at the border of the red and white skin.
Anatomy
On abductor hallucis; the dorsal venous network and the medial plantar artery; the medial plantar nerve and the branches of the superficial peroneal nerve.

Indications
Abdominal distension and pain, borborygmus, diarrhoea or constipation, poor appetite, fatigue and heavy limbs, and vomiting.
Needling
0.3-0.5 cun, perpendicular insertion.
Moxibustion Suitability
Suitable for moxibustion.
Point Combinations
With ST-36 and REN-12 to tonify the Spleen and Stomach; with SP-9 to resolve dampness.
