Zhonglushu (BL-29), “Mid-Spine Shu”, on the sacrum, strengthens the lower back, relieves sciatica and regulates the Intestines.
Location
On the sacrum, 1.5 cun lateral to the midline, level with the third posterior sacral foramen (S3).
Anatomy
On the gluteus maximus; the lateral sacral artery; the dorsal rami of the sacral nerves.

Indications
Lumbosacral pain, sciatica, abdominal pain and diarrhoea, and stiffness of the lower back.
Needling
0.8-1.2 cun, perpendicular insertion.

With BL-25 and BL-54 for lumbosacral pain and sciatica.
