Pangguangshu (BL-28), “Bladder Shu”, is the Back-Shu point of the Bladder. It regulates the bladder, resolves damp-heat in the lower burner and benefits urination and the lumbosacral region.
Location
On the sacrum, 1.5 cun lateral to the midline, level with the second posterior sacral foramen (S2).
Anatomy
On the erector spinae and gluteus maximus; the lateral sacral artery; the dorsal rami of the sacral nerves.

Indications
Retention or difficult and painful urination, enuresis, cystitis, diarrhoea and constipation, and lumbosacral pain and stiffness.
Needling
0.8-1.2 cun, perpendicular insertion.
Moxibustion Suitability
Suitable for moxibustion.
Point Combinations
With REN-3 (its Front-Mu) for the bladder; with BL-23 for the lower back.
