Xiaochangshu (BL-27), the Back-Shu point of the Small Intestine, resolves damp-heat in the lower burner, regulates the Intestines and benefits the lower back and sacrum.
Location
On the sacrum, 1.5 cun lateral to the midline, level with the first posterior sacral foramen (S1).
Anatomy
On the erector spinae and gluteus maximus; the lateral sacral artery; the dorsal rami of the sacral nerves.

Indications
Lower abdominal pain, diarrhoea and dysentery, difficult or painful urination, abnormal vaginal discharge, and sacral pain.
Needling
0.8-1.2 cun, perpendicular insertion.

Suitable for moxibustion.
Point Combinations
With BL-28 and REN-3 for urinary disorders.
