Indications

Severe water-heat excess: marked abdominal distension and water swelling (ascites/oedema) with constipation, dark scanty urine, a robust body, and thirst.

Tongue & Pulse

Tongue: greasy yellow coat. Pulse: deep, full and forceful.

Modifications

A drastic water-expelling formula; used briefly and carefully.

Cautions & Contraindications

Harsh and toxic - contraindicated in pregnancy, deficiency oedema and the weak; expert use only.
