Indications

Liver qi stagnation with hypochondriac and breast distension and pain, and hernia; and food stagnation with epigastric and abdominal masses.

Dosage

3-9 g in decoction.

Common Combinations

With Chai Hu and Xiang Fu for Liver qi constraint with breast pain.

Cautions & Contraindications

Stronger and more draining than Chen Pi; use with caution in qi deficiency and with much sweating.
