Indications
Constipation from blood and fluid dryness: dry, difficult stools, often in the elderly, postpartum or after illness, with dry skin and a dry mouth.
Tongue & Pulse
Tongue: dry. Pulse: thin (or choppy).
Modifications
For Kidney-deficiency constipation use Ji Chuan Jian instead.
Cautions & Contraindications
For dryness/blood-deficiency constipation; use with caution in pregnancy (contains Tao Ren and Da Huang).
