Indications
Stubborn phlegm-damp: cough with copious thick sputum, a stifling chest, dizziness, nausea, and a sensation of focal distension.
Tongue & Pulse
Tongue: white greasy coat. Pulse: slippery.
Modifications
Add Ren Shen and Shi Chang Pu (Di Tan Tang) for phlegm clouding the mind with wind-stroke.
Cautions & Contraindications
Drying; not for phlegm from yin deficiency or dry cough.
