Indications
Lingering heat in the chest: irritability, restlessness, insomnia, a stifling sensation in the chest, and a sensation of warmth, often after a febrile disease.
Tongue & Pulse
Tongue: red tip with a thin yellow coat. Pulse: rapid.
Modifications
With nausea, add Sheng Jiang; with shortness of breath, add Gan Cao.
Cautions & Contraindications
For residual heat irritability; not for diarrhoea from deficiency-cold.
