- Huang Qi, Bai Zhu (tonify qi) – chief; Long Gu, Mu Li, Shan Zhu Yu, Wu Bei Zi (astringe)

Indications
Spleen qi deficiency not holding the blood: heavy uterine bleeding or flooding and trickling, pale and watery blood, palpitations, shortness of breath and fatigue.
Tongue & Pulse
Tongue: pale. Pulse: thin and weak (or large and weak).
Modifications
With marked cold, add Pao Jiang; for chronic cases, follow with qi-and-blood tonics.
Cautions & Contraindications
For deficiency bleeding; not for bleeding from blood heat or stasis.
