Indications
Blood stasis with heat in the lower burner: lower abdominal pain and fullness that resists pressure, mania-like irritability at night, amenorrhoea or dysmenorrhoea with clots, and constipation.
Tongue & Pulse
Tongue: dark or purplish with a yellow coat. Pulse: deep, full and choppy or rapid.
Modifications
Used short-term; adjust dose of Da Huang/Mang Xiao to the bowels.
Cautions & Contraindications
Contraindicated in pregnancy and in deficiency without stasis-heat.
