Ingredients

Actions & Functions

  • Clears heat, drains fire and promotes urination (damp-heat in the Bladder)

Indications

Damp-heat painful urinary dysfunction: frequent, urgent, hot, painful and difficult urination, dark or turbid or bloody urine, and a dry mouth.

Tongue & Pulse

Tongue: red with a yellow greasy coat. Pulse: slippery and rapid.

Modifications

Add Jin Qian Cao and Hai Jin Sha for urinary stones. Use Chuan Mu Tong only.

Cautions & Contraindications

Cold and draining; contraindicated in pregnancy and used briefly; not for deficiency.
