Indications
Blood deficiency with dizziness and palpitations; bleeding disorders, including uterine bleeding; and yin deficiency with restlessness, insomnia and a dry cough or coughing of blood.
Dosage
3-15 g, dissolved in the strained, hot decoction (melted in separately).
Common Combinations
With Ai Ye and Dang Gui (Jiao Ai Tang) to nourish blood and stop uterine bleeding.
Cautions & Contraindications
Cloying; use with caution in Spleen and Stomach deficiency with poor appetite, loose stools or vomiting.
