This point, below the sternum, is the Luo-Connecting point of the Conception Vessel. It calms the spirit, unbinds the chest and is used for mental-emotional disorders and epilepsy.

Location

On the upper abdomen, on the anterior midline, below the xiphoid process, 7 cun superior to the umbilicus.

Anatomy

On the linea alba below the xiphoid; the superior epigastric artery; the seventh intercostal nerve.

  • Calms the spirit (Luo-Connecting point)
  • Unbinds the chest and descends rebellious qi
  • Settles epilepsy

Indications

Anxiety, palpitations, mania and epilepsy, cardiac pain, and fullness of the chest.

Needling

0.4-0.6 cun, oblique insertion downward; needle with care.

Moxibustion Suitability

Suitable for moxibustion.

Point Combinations

With HT-7 and DU-26 for mania and epilepsy.
