Gall Bladder 4 (GB 4) Han Yan 頷厭 — Forehead Fullness

Location

On the head, within the temporal hairline, at the upper quarter of the curved line connecting ST-8 and GB-7.

Anatomy

On the temporalis; the parietal branches of the superficial temporal artery; the temporal branch of the facial nerve and the auriculotemporal nerve.

  • Dispels wind and benefits the head
  • Relieves migraine and disorders of the ears and eyes

Indications

Migraine, dizziness, tinnitus, pain at the outer canthus, and toothache.

Needling

0.3-0.5 cun, transverse insertion.

Moxibustion Suitability

Moxibustion is generally not used.

Point Combinations

With Taiyang and GB-8 for migraine.
