Location

On the head, within the temporal hairline, at the midpoint of the curved line connecting ST-8 and GB-7.

Anatomy

On the temporalis; the parietal branches of the superficial temporal artery; the temporal branch of the facial nerve and the auriculotemporal nerve.

  • Relieves migraine and facial pain

Indications

Migraine, pain at the outer canthus, toothache, and facial swelling.

Needling

0.3-0.5 cun, transverse insertion.

Moxibustion Suitability

Moxibustion is generally not used.

With GB-4 and GB-6 for migraine.
