This is the Xi-Cleft (accumulation) point of the Lung channel. As a Xi-cleft point it is reserved for acute Lung conditions and for stopping bleeding such as haemoptysis.
Location
On the palmar aspect of the forearm, 7 cun proximal to the wrist crease (LU-9), on the line connecting LU-5 and LU-9.
Anatomy
Brachioradialis and the radial border of flexor carpi radialis; the radial artery and cephalic vein; the lateral antebrachial cutaneous nerve and the superficial radial nerve.

- Clears heat and descends rebellious Lung qi
- Stops bleeding (haemoptysis)

Indications
Acute cough and asthma, haemoptysis, sore throat and loss of voice, haemorrhoids, and febrile disease without sweating.
Needling
0.5-1.0 cun, perpendicular insertion.
Moxibustion Suitability
Suitable for moxibustion.
Point Combinations
With LU-5 for haemoptysis; with LU-7 for acute cough and sore throat.
