Ingredients

Actions & Functions

  • Subdues ascendant Liver yang and extinguishes internal wind
  • Nourishes the yin and directs qi/blood downward

Indications

Liver yang rising turning to wind: severe dizziness and headache, a distended feeling in the head and eyes, tinnitus, flushed face, irritability, a heavy or numb sensation, and a possible premonition of windstroke.

Tongue & Pulse

Tongue: red. Pulse: wiry, long and forceful.

Modifications

With marked heat, add Huang Qin and Zhi Zi.

Cautions & Contraindications

For excess Liver yang/wind with yin deficiency; not for deficiency-type dizziness.
