Ingredients

Actions & Functions

  • Diffuses the Lung and releases wind-cold
  • Stops cough and calms wheezing

Indications

Wind-cold fettering the Lung: cough and wheezing, nasal congestion and a hoarse voice, with chills and a stifling chest.

Tongue & Pulse

Tongue: thin white coat. Pulse: floating and tight.

Modifications

Add Jie Geng (Wu Ao Tang) for sore throat; the base of many cough formulas.

Cautions & Contraindications

Contains Ma Huang; for wind-cold cough, not for Lung heat or deficiency.
